What kind of sickly little nellies are they allowing to compete on Dancing with the Stars this year? The past two weeks has been filled with bitching and moaning about oh, my flu. I’m filled with the flu. The flu has be down and I need to go home to sleep. BOO HOO! I’m sorry I’m a failure at life.
Back when I was on Dancing with the Stars, we didn’t cry about having the flu. We didn’t let our professionals take days …
Last year I read Eat Pray Love for my book club and it was a reminder to me of what I’ve been neglecting in my life. Elizabeth Gilbert set out on a year-long trek to find herself through pleasure and prayer. She spent several weeks at the Ashram of her Guru in India, and as I read I wondered to myself, “Where can I find myself a guru?” not really knowing that I’d found one long ago in Pema Chödrön.
I can’t really say how I happened upon her …
Several weeks back, I got a really nice email from Emily at Sound Bites, a company that makes hummus and chimichurri, and she suggested I come down to our local farmer’s market to check out their products. Well, I love hummus and I had never tried chimichurri before but thought it sounded familiar. Then I thought, hey man, aren’t those little animals that roll around in the dust to clean themselves? Don’t they sell them at Petco? But you know what, Internet, those are chinchillas. Apparently chimichurri is something wholly …
Read the full post »Well, another year, another month of daily posts this November. I’ll do my very best to keep it entertaining and not resort to posting recaps of the episode of Xena: Warrior Princess we watched most recently (yesterday, Gabrielle was kidnapped and a cult tried to get her to spill her blood innocence. Xena had to travel through a dreamscape to get to Gabrielle in time to save her from having to kill or be killed. It was all very dramatic!)
You may have noticed that I uploaded the new blog design. …
This weekend I was having a normal conversation with my parents on the way from my nephew’s baptism to a restaurant. Along the way we got to talking about space and astronauts for some reason I cannot remember. I think my mom might have asked how astronauts went to the bathroom in space, if they stored it or if it was just sucked out and shot into the universe where it just floats away until it slaps some poor unsuspecting space traveler in the ace. That’s when my dad reminded …
Read the full post »This weekend I went to my nephew’s Baptism. It was not horrible to be in church, but mostly because I distracted myself with picture-taking and spacing out. The actual baptism was fun because babies apparently hate water. Sorry babies! There were 12 kids in total and we had a front-row seat. I snapped pictures like crazy. I was supposed to be in charge of video-taping the ceremony but there were several technical difficulties, none of which I will take any blame for. I don’t know why that tape won’t go …
Read the full post »I’ve successfully upgraded WordPress yet again and I only managed to delete half of something I shouldn’t have. BACKUP, PEOPLE! Always back your shit up. Let this be a lesson for us all.
I’ve been working diligently on the site redesign and it looks like I might have it pretty much ready by the time I start NaBloPoMo or, National Blog Posting Month, on November 1st. Here’s hoping! I can’t believe it has gone so smoothly, and so I’m prepared for everything to go wrong, like …
Hey friends,
It is time again for me to update to the newest version of WordPress, which will involve moving some files around and possibly fucking everything up if I make a mistake. So in the next few days you may see some things, or you may see nothing at all, not even this post or, if all goes well, you won’t even notice and then I’ll come back here and tell you it was all a great success and we’ll sing songs and eat candy together to celebrate our good …
