Upgrading to WordPress 2.7.1

I’m doing an upgrade of the blogging platform for this website.  I’ve been pretty lucky in the past when it comes to avoiding upgrade problems, but you never quite know.  So I’m posting a little note to let you know that if the shit goes down and everything disappears, I’ll be back, somehow, someway, some day.  Don’t you worry about me!  I’ll be fine!

You should also know that today is the day where we will first leave our dear Augustus Pullo at home, alone, for two whole hours between when Janie goes to work and I come home from work.  There has been a lot of planning for this day.  We’ve roped off a specific area of the living room from which he cannot escape unless he suddenly and unexpectedly learns to hurdle tall barriers or rides a cat out with some wicked stunt maneuvering.  We have also taken every possible item out of reach of his mouth with exception of the couch, the fireplace, the television and his varied accoutrement.  We’re mentally prepared to come home and find that he’s shredded the leather couch, eaten the fireplace, peed on the television and somehow managed to negotiate his way into the bedroom and up the several feet onto our bed where he will entertain a group of dancing girls from Las Vegas that he managed to order online.  I don’t know.  Puppies these days are so unpredictable.

*UPDATE* I have managed to live through another upgrade.  At one point I thought I had deleted everything, but as it turns out, I didn’t.  So that’s nice.
