Please Welcome

Last week I alluded to something special we had going on.  Well, the time is right, so we’d like to announce the newest member of the Lady Gay administration.

Please welcome Press Secretary Augustus Pullo.  You can call him Gus.

He will handle any press inquiries from here on out, but he’ll get to it when he’s finished sleeping.

Gus! Gus! Tell us what kind of dog you are and what do you think about Janie taking her shirt off? Gus!

Oh holy crap, I am a complete goner. Gus is so freaking adorable I can’t stand it. Don’t tell the boy, but I think I’m a little in love just from the photos alone.

One question though, does he realize that his hedgehog (it is a hedgehog, no?) is nearly as big as he is?

Oops, guess that was two questions. Or a question within a question, at least.

    The cuteness! Oh! The cuteness!

I need to kiss his head most severely.

I second the curiosity on the breed. He looks like he’ll remain wee as an adult. But is he a mix of smaller breeds? Mebbe a . . . pugahuahuah?

I am a Pekachu: Pekingese and Chihuahua mix. I am very small.

That hedgehog is bigger than my head, but I can handle it. He got what was coming to him.

My cat sisters are a little freaked out, especially Harlow, but Ducati and I are bonding pretty well. I kind of love him.

I cry a lot when I wake up in my kennel, but then I stop and I can come out to potty and then there are a lot of kisses, especially on my floppy lips, and then I go back to sleep. Sometimes my moms let me sleep nestled in their necks because I get very cold. We all snore a little bit.

Gus, you were 1000 times more adorable in person than in these photos. You will make a fine addition to the Lady’s Gay. A fine addition.

oh my precious, he’s a beaut!!

i love puppy breath, congratulations to “THE” lady’s gay. (privately to gus: i’m guessing your moms are big pushovers so you will basically get whatever it is your puppy heart desires.)

Hello Little Gus! Make sure your moms keep a good eye on you- if I see you unattended I may have to claim you as my own!

    Welcome, Hannah! 🙂

We had a long list of names we really liked. Ultimately we played a little game of elimination and settled on Augustus. I like Augustus because I have an interest in Augustus Caesar, who happens to be the the namesake of my mother’s hometown in Germany. Janie loves it because there is a character with the same name in her favorite book, Lonesome Dove.

We also really like the name Titus Pullo, who is one of the two soldiers mentioned in writings of Julius Caesar, so we attached Pullo to the end as a compromise.

Voila! Augustus Pullo, or Gus. Gussy. Gus Gus. Gusolini. Tiny Pooper.
