You were the worst boss I’ve ever had, not because you were a hardass, but because you were needlessly cruel. The day you left was one of the happiest days of my life. I don’t hate you, but I do think you’re one of the meanest people I’ve ever met.

I wish you’d been alive long enough to meet Janie, because she’d love you almost as much as I do.  It’s been 18 years since you died and I can still hear the sound of your laughter.  I miss you every day, and I can’t imagine it will ever be easier.

As much as I sometimes think I want bad things to happen to you, I calm myself down and ask the universe to give me peace to make it through another day of putting up with you. I hope you have a long and healthy life, just not anywhere near me.
