A few weeks ago I caught an episode of that ass-face Bobby Flay’s show Throwdown. Ordinarily I would have flipped right on through, but they were battling over cupcakes and if there is something I might like as much as donuts, it’s cupcakes. Bobby battled Terri Wahl, owner/chef of Auntie Em’s Kitchen in LA. He made some sort of gingerbread mango cupcakes with some candied crap on top and his opponent made red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

I stole that post title from George H.W. Bush and just like him, I am exaggerating.
The garden project isn’t really complete, it’s more in the state of constant upkeep which, I guess, is the general nature of a garden anyway. A garden/yard is never really “done.” This is something people don’t tell you before you buy a house or a condo with a yard. Make a note of that.

Our condo is technically on the first floor, but below us is a garage, so we’re a floor above …

Janie and I spent all of last weekend digging around in our garden. We’re one of two units with a patio and a small yard. We’d let the weeds grow in since last summer and they covered the entire span of this area – some growing more than a foot high (that big mound of brown/green in the middle is a huge pile of weeds).
