We left early yesterday to make sure Janie’s right to caucus would be upheld. Upon our arrival, they asked for our precinct number. This was my first caucus, so I was unprepared for this sudden need to know things. I told the volunteer that I didn’t know our precinct number and he pointed to a map and said we could find it there. For the past two weeks Janie has been yelling “I demand my right to caucus!”
She doesn’t know what it means to caucus, but she thinks it sounds wicked-cool.
I figured that we should probably check it out since neither of us has ever been. So today at 1pm we’ll be a-caucusing. It’s been about a year since Janie’s diagnosis with Celiac disease and though many things in our lives have changed, some have not, like the fact that Janie still is on me all the time, even after I threaten her with violent acts of singing Carpenter’s songs.
